It just happens not to be a whole lot cheaper, which some most? Your message has been reported and will be reviewed by our staff. I ended up using Windows Server because I couldn’t figure out how to do it in Linux. MOST of the stuff not even strictly relating to computers have a minimum of a 1-month lead time before any action is taken. The file that was being written at the time I yanked a drive reports a partial filesize as much as was written before the drive, and thus the array, died. The motherboard has two groups of 4 SATA ports:. Share this post Link to post Share isi other sites. It was built on DOS which is not meant to be networked. Click on the following links for the driver package readme info: Processes hang as soon as they touch the disk; hard reset necessary. My mom only visits about 4 sites, so having a caching DNS server would be invaluable to them. Aii Windows OS is really not designed from the ground up to be secure, but it is meant to be easy to use and flexible.
Sure there are security issues, but I have seen at least as many with Linux sil Windows. I may be wrong about the RAID card. I don’t think I’ll touch it again for years. If he drives go down, bye bye array??? SLES9 picked up the two drives individually because the linux drivers for the SIL support the chipset as a pair of SATA controllers, but do not currenty support the wackiness that it uses eii signal to the expected software driver that it should do some RAID stuff.
Already have an account? Do not use Sil controller at all. At best, the card could have been firmware RAID. I still get frustrated just remembering it.
This would mean it simply couldn’t communicate with the outside world. And like I said, while the SATA was about to identify and detect the drives, neither Solaris, nor Linux was about to pick up on the array. I don’t envy you on that. I do not understand people who actually tolerate that crap. Thank You for Submitting Your Review,! It looks like the ide driver puked.
[ubuntu] [SOLVED] siI not working
I find that highly sik. That is the nature of this race humanity and this reality. Select type of offense: I haven’t had the ‘pleasure’ of trying an install of those drivers on a Solaris install, but I have with Linux.
The card’s BIOS does a little voodoo that tells the driver “these drives are a RAID set, configured like so” and the drivers actually turn it into a single volume for OSes that support it. Until such a time that I am thorough convinced that the data will remain intact, then and only then would I consider going to software RAID.
Democracy allows these people to vote, so there are always issues with enforcing laws against them. The specifications for that card were simple: I would like to see you try and get to your data after 311 events.
Microsoft Update Catalog
I have slightly modified that, in that the constant is not really constant. Granted, Solaris is a good OS.
There are so many ways that Windows is superior to Linux or Solaris, due entirely to MS’s quest to make computers easy to use. If it had been able to pick up the array as one “drive”, then I would have been perfectly content with it’s implementation.
