At this point, the disks are visible to esxi installer and I was able to peerc and boot into esxi. Trying to install esxi on a Dell R II.
Log in or sign perx in seconds. Dell has a nice ISO image that will boot into a linux kernel and run a script to updatei all the firmwares in one flail swoop. So, is it at all possible to bypass this controller and just use the 2 disks normally? However, when trying to setup the array, all the drives show gb? Post as a guest Name.
Your best bet is to contact Dell as they might even have drivers or an ESXi implementation pedc would work and see the disks. Or do I have to upgrade the controller? Sign up using Email and Password. However, we had a drive failure.
However, If we just passed thought the controller, Windows could see the full 1tb drives. I’ve also tried disconnecting the disks from the controller and plugging them straight into the board but every boot, I still see the perc card doing its thing.

Within the raid controller configuration, gaid drive only showed gb. Still worth a shot to talk with Dell however!
Update the firmware on all the things for that machine, T are not that young, and if you got it used, you can almost bet it was not brought up to snuff raif it was sold. Can I bypass the controller altogether?
